DualSense Improving on PC; New Updates Without PS5
PC gamers can finally update the DualSense controller without using the PlayStation 5 console.
Using DualSense, the dedicated controller for PlayStation 5, on PC has just become much easier. Sony released a program that enables us to update the software of this controller via the PC itself. Previously, this was only possible via the PS5 console.
The application is called Firmware updater for DualSense wireless controller and can be ed from the official PlayStation website. It requires 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 to work.
After installing the program, all you have to do is connect the gamepad to your PC via USB and update the software using the application.
The release of the app should make many gamers happy. Using controllers from Sony consoles (both DualSense and older DualShocks) is becoming more and more popular, despite the fact that it is often much more problematic than playing with Xbox pads. Many games still do not display the icons from PlayStation, forcing players to install mods to ensure this. Unfortunately, such modifications are not available for all games.
Making life easier for PC gamers who want to use the company's gamepads makes sense. Sony has been investing more and more heavily in the PC gaming market in recent years, releasing ports of many of its hits, such as acquired Nixxe, which specializes in porting games to PC.
