A third-person action RPG, heavily inspired by the Mass Effect series and featuring a license of The Expanse TV series. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn was developed by the Russian studio Owlcat Games - creators of the Pathfinder series and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a sci-fi action RPG, based on the license of the TV series titled The Expanse, which in turn was an adaptation of popular novels written by a duo of writers under the pseudonym James S.A. Corey.
The game was developed by the RPG-specialized studio Owlcat Games (Mass Effect series.
In The Expanse: Osiris Reborn the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).
We start the adventure by creating the main character. The game allows us to decide their origin, enabling us to embody both an Earthling and a Martian, as well as a Wanderer.
Over the course of the game other crew us. Given that each of them has their own personality, past, and motivation, not all of our decisions are to their liking, which affects their loyalty. The game does not lack the possibility of romancing other people.
The adventure leads us through various locations known from the books and the TV series. Apart from Eros station, we can visit Ganymede, Ceres, Mars and Luna, among others. We conduct conversations and carry out missions, as well as participate in battles with opponents.
Although our crew is larger, we can take a maximum of two companions with us on the mission. The rest can only us. During dynamic skirmishes, we can hide behind covers and make use of futuristic firearms, as well as various skills and combat gadgets (such as shields, drones or grenades).
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn takes us to the version of The Expanse universe known from the television series. When a deadly threat appeared at Eros station, a full lockdown was announced. Meanwhile, we take on the role of a mercenary from Pinkwater Security and take command of the crew of the most advanced ship in the entire Solar System. Our task is to emerge unscathed from the chaos on the brink of which humanity stands. How our story unfolds largely depends on our actions and the choices we make.
