A third-person survival game featuring a fantasy setting. Guardians of the Wild Sky offers an open world, in which we visit an archipelago in the skies. We can fight enemies and breed titular Guardians - beings capable of using the powers of the elements. The game can be played either solo or in coop mode.

Guardians of the Wild Sky is an open-world survival game developed by Blue Isle Studios. It is an independent development team, with games such as Citadel: Forged with Fire in its portfolio.

Gameplay

In Guardians of the Wild Sky we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game takes us to a fantasy land made up of islands floating among the clouds. We play as a character who experiences various adventures, working either alone or in a group.

Guardians

The celestial archipelago at our disposal is home to the titular Guardians and they are various creatures that inhabit it. They were differentiated in of appearance, personality, characteristics, and abilities related to elements.

In exchange for taking care of them and developing relationships with them, these beings repay us by helping us in various ways. While some excel in combat, others assist us in quieter, everyday tasks.

The game allows us not only to tame and care for the Guardians, but also to breed them. A system was implemented that allows their genes and traits to be combined. We can use this to create creatures tailored to our individual needs and preferences.

Exciting adventures

The adventure leads us through various locations, among which we will find both beautiful landscapes and dark caves or ancient dungeons reminiscent of labyrinths. While exploring them, we often encounter enemies with whom we engage in dynamic battles. Our enemies include ominous cultists, but also titans and other beasts. We eliminate opponents using melee weapons and combat skills, as well as making use of the powers of tamed Guardians.

Traveling is diversified by the changing times of day and night and the weather cycle.

Base construction and crafting

In between great adventures, we can devote ourselves to building our headquarters. The system implemented in the game allows us to erect various structures - from simple, cozy houses, through powerful airships, to real sky fortresses.

Additionally, there is a crafting system in the game, which allows for the creation of various items, such as tools, magical equipment or weapons. In addition to this, we can spend some time cooking, farming, as well as fishing.

Coop and other game modes

We can play Guardians of the Wild Sky solo or in cooperative mode over the Internet. The game has been optimized for cooperative gameplay for up to 5 participants, although we can also have fun with a larger group.
