Refreshed version of Alfred Chicken from 1993, in which players play the role of the title rooster, setting off to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend - Floella. As we play, we navigate through a variety of locations, jumping across platforms and bying ubiquitous pitfalls, eliminating enemies we encounter and piercing balloons found along the way, allowing us to gain access to the next stages.
Alfred Chicken is a remake of a platform game from 1993, developed by Möbius Entertainment. The game was published on PS1 by Sony Computer Entertainment (currently Sony Interactive Entertainment). As a curiosity it should be added that the title was sold only in Europe.
Alfred Chicken enables us to play the title character, whose beloved Floell was kidnapped by the evil MekaChicken. Without thinking too long, our protege sets out to save his other half.
The action in Alfred Chicken is shown from the side. The game is divided into stages taking place in different locations - both on the surface and underwater, where the brave rooster wears an oxygen mask and diving glasses. In the course of the game, our protege must first of all jump on platforms and by ubiquitous traps, as well as use elements of the environment like springs enabling him to perform higher jumps. In addition, it is also necessary to eliminate enemies (by jumping on their heads), collect crystals affecting our score and finally breaking balloons, which gives us access to subsequent levels.
Power-ups, such as homing bombs and an earthworm that attacks our enemies, are also helpful in completing the task entrusted to the hero; however, in the case of the latter it is necessary to meet certain conditions - for example, in the case of the latter, to find a can of worms.
Although the mechanics of Alfred Chicken do not differ much from that of the original, the game boasts higher quality polygon-based graphics, as well as a catching soundtrack. In addition, the game was expanded by additional stages, which did not appear in the original.
